Dr David Jackson is a storyteller and researcher exploring AI in fiction and its effect on audiences. Recent work includes Stepford, an opinionated chatbot that comments on sexism in sci-fi texts, funded by Mozilla Technology Fund and Audience with a Hero, an exploration of interactive speech-led documentary, with musician Nile Rodgers and partners Forever Holdings and Bright White. His latest generative storytelling project with colleague Alasdair Swenson “Children of Talos” imagines an alternative history shared with mysterious artificial intelligences. David leads the Storytelling Co-Lab unit taken by all students in the School of Digital Arts, Manchester Metropolitan University.
