PANEL DISCUSSION:

COMMUNITY REJECTION/ ADOPTION

Many practitioners see little to gain but much to lose from the market rollout of creative A.I. tools and reject them as a way of working. Should we fantasise (murderously) about a future without it, learn to love it, or find a third way? We hear about the responses of students arguing for and against the downfall of AI, with an AI in tow to chastise them, the table-top games players and their organised rejection of AI as against the moral economy of collaborative play. Conversely, we hear the mutable sonic grain of algorithmic voice as tool for crafting authentic identities, an imaginary adoption of humans by the machinic community and the mimicking of bot writing, perhaps as a form of community reclamation.
